  2. 1. In this story Okonkwo is a youngman who defeated the Amalinze the Cat. Okwokwo defeated the man in a wrestling match. Unoka is the story is Okwonko's father. Unoka he is a person that owes alot of people money. Nwoye is Okonkwo first son. Unfortunatly he is a lazy son. Ikefuma is a person that came from the city called Mbaino. He was a man that was taken by Okonkwo when Okonkwo went to Mbaino.

    2. The things from pages 1- 15 are really breif, by it just explaining the village that Okwonko grew up at. The city of Okwonko is scared by other villages. The city are respected, and the other cities wrestlers lost to Okwonko, from that other city are scared at them.

    3. From this story, i think its around the development of technology. The reason i said that, is because the form of entertainment, by people play alot of instrument. For instace "Sometimes another village would ask Unoka's band and their dancing egwugwu to come and stay with them and teach them their tunes", from that quote, it sounded like he has a technology and he is spreading the knowledge.

    4. This novel take place at Umuofia. " Umofia's latest war he was the first to bring home a human head", this quote tells me that Okonkwo came back from war. He went to war and came with a trophy for his village, from that it tells me that this story take place at Umofia.

    5. From the reading, these event are happening because the people need something to do.By making something to do, the people make a way of entertaiment by wrestling. From the the wrestling the people get known and respect. In all these event that kept happening, is because it is a way of entertaiment and job for the people.

  3. Who?
Okwonko is the main character of the story who defeats a great Amalinze, the cat. He shows that he’s a great wrestler as well as a great farmer. Okwonko’s father, Unoba, is a failure during his life. He gets no titles but makes lots of debts and owes many people some money. The first child of Okwonko is Nwoye. He is currently a twelve year old boy who has similar personalities as Unoba for being lazy. Another twelve year old boy who Okwonko takes care of is Ikefuma which he was brought from Mbaino.

    What?
A twelve year old boy and a virgin lady was brought to Okwonko’s village, Umuofia from the village Mbaino.

    When?
The book didn’t explain when it actually happened but it gives us some clues that it probably happened during the 19th century because they weren’t really untouched by other civilizations unlike Europe for example.

    Where?
It’s pretty brief on where this setting took place at. We currently know that it is taken at two villages of Umuofia and Mbaino in probably in Africa because the author mentions about African named instruments as well as the city, and people’s names.

    Why?
The Mbaino people had brought 2 people, a virgin and Ikefuma because there was a wife of Umuofia murdered when she was at Mbaino. Therefore, the Umuofias wanted to make a solution to make both villages fair so the choice was either a war between those villages or the Mbainos giving out two people to the Umuofias.

  4. Okonkwo is the protagonist in Things Fall Apart, and rules his household very strongly. He was ashamed of his father, and devoted his life to being successful and strong unlike his dad was.
Okonkwo's fathers name was Unoka, and he loved to play his flute. Unfortunately, he was a very weak man, and also a debtor. Nwoye is Okonkwo's first son, and although only twelve, Okonkwo already punishes and beats him for being supposedly 'lazy'. Ikefuma is a boy that was given to Okonkwo by the man who killed a girl of his village. He then gave Ikefuma to his first wife to look after.

Until page 15, the most important event that happened had been the killing of a girl that lived in Okonkwo's village. In return, they got a young man and a young woman from the village that killed the girl. A theme that is growing is how violent Okonkwo is. The author keeps describing how strictly Okonkwo rules his family. I foreshadow that this will one day rebound back at him and he will meet with catastrophe.

This story was based not too long before the 1870s. I figured this was about when this story takes place, because according to the blurb this story is about a period right before european missionaries 'invaded' their land. The europeans arrived in about the 1870s, so it would make sense for this story to take place not that long before that. "The second, as modern as the first is ancient, concerns the clash of cultures and the destruction of Okonkwo's world with the arrival of aggressive European missionaries." (Achebe)

This story is based in Nigeria, Africa. This was also written in the blurb on the back of the book. More specifically though, the story was based in one of the nine villages of Umuofia, which was also Okonkwo's home town. "Okonkwo was well known throughout the nine villages and even beyond." (Achebe), "Every man of Umuofia was asked to gather at the market place tomorrow morning. Okonkwo wondered what was amiss, for he knew certainly that something was amiss."

First of all, it is not yet possible to know why the girl that was killed was killed, but the reason Umuofia ended up with a young man and girl was because the society was feared. They gave the killer society a choice, either war or repayment, and they immediately chose to repay. Since Okonkwo was in such a high social class due to his personal acheivements, he was given the young man for the whole of Umuofia. "Okonkwo was, therefore, asked on behalf of the clan to look after him in the interim." (Achebe).

  7. who? Okonkwo is a man who beaten up the great wrestler named Analinze the Cat. He is the main character of this story. Unoka is the father of Okonkwo, and he died ten years before the book was written. He plays flute very well. Nwoye is the oldest son of Okonkwo, and he is twelve years old. He was raised harshly from his father, Okonkwo didn't wanted Nwoye to be like his father who is lazy and coward, and his sad face became sad. Ikefuma was a boy who was sent to Mbaino. He was only fifteen years old when he went to Mbaino, but he stayed in Okonkwo's place and worked as Okonkwo's household. Ekwefi is Okonkwo's second wife.

what? there were not much event happened in first to second paragraph, it just explains about Okonkwo and about the village, Umuofia. There was a problem that a young girls were murdered by someone. And they have to send a boy and a girl to Mbaino in one of the nine village of Umuofia.

when? It didn't say when it happened, but I assume that it is when the culture of Africa developed, because there were a lot of instruments and there were a lot of communities between other places.

where? The place is taken in Nigeria, Africa. In Nijeria, there are nine villages, including every nine villages are called Umuofia. Umuofia was feared by other villages because there is Okonkwo, who defeated the strong wrestler in other town.

  8. 1. Okonkwo is young man who is famous throughout nine villages, and Unoka is father of Okonkwo who is lazy man and ows lot of money to people. Nwoye is oldest son of Okonkwo. Ikefuma is men who came from Mbainos.

    2. From page 1 to 15 there was only explanation about characters. However the only event that was going on is Ikefuma and two ladies came from village called Mbainos.

    3. I am not sure about when this story was taking place, but I think this story was taking place around 1900~1950 A.C. Reason why I think this story was taking place around 1900~1950 A.C. is by reading this story, I can tell that people are not developed and they are in the process of developing.

    4. This story is happening at village called Umuofia. Umuofia is village that is at Nigeria.

    5. I do not know why daughter of Umuofia was kille. However Ikefuma and two ladies has came to Umuofia because when daughter of Umuofia was killed Ikefuma went in to Okonkwo’s house. Therefore Okonkwo started to take care of them.

    ReplyDelete
  9. 1. Okonkwo is the Protagonist of the story. He is a wealthy clan leader in Umuofia. He is a skilled warrior and wealthy man who has 3 wives and 8 children. Unoka is his father who wasn't so successful. Okonkwo had a hard time in his childhood. Also when he was an adult, he didn't have any land or any support from his father so he had a hard time. Nwoye is Okonkwo's oldest son who is very weak and lazy. Because OKonkwo hates and fears the laziness, he beats Nwoye. Ikefuma is the child Okonkwo got after the incident of murdering the wife of the tribesman from Umuofia. Okonkwo's first wife takes care of him. Ekwefi is Okonkwo's second wife.

    2. Some key events between chapter 1 and chapter 2 are Mbaino's murdering of the wife of the tribesman in Umuofia in chapter 2 and the harvest of yams in chapter 3.

    3. This novel probably takes place during the 19th century. I can tell this because the village and the culture shown in the story still aren't influenced by the Europeans.

    4. This story takes place in one of the nine villages somewhere in Africa. The culture that the author shows such as having many wives and wealth being dependent on the harvest tells us that this story takes place in a rural area in Africa. Also at the very beginning of the story, it tells that this story takes place in one of the nine villages and later in the story tells that the village it takes place is Umuofia.

5.The first event (the murdering of the wife) occured to show how Okonkwo was selected as the leader and how he is as the leader. Okonkwo chose not to start the war which shows he does not take risk so that he won't fail like his father. Also the second event (harvest of yams) shows how much he hates his father and how he hates the laziness and the weakness. Okonkwo, different from Unoka, works very hard to be successful but in the end of chapter three he does not get much harvest and gets shocked. Throughout the first three chapters, it introduces Okonkwo and how he is like.

  10. *WHO?- Okonkwo was the central center. He was very tall, huge and also bushy eyebrows and wide nose gave him a very severe look. He known about by a lot people through out the nine villages and even beyond. Unoka was Okonkwo's father. He was tall but extremely weak and had a slight crooked, wore a cursive style and regret look except when he was drinking or playing on his flute. Had very great on his instrument, his happiest moments. Nwoye was the Okonkwo's oldest son, age 12 at the books beginning. When he was childhood, weak and lazy boy. Ikemefuna, who was a boy of 14, given to the village. He lived with his family about 3-4 years. He take care of his brothers, showed up as an older brother. Last character is Ekwefi. He was Okonwo's second wife. She have ten children, was the most prettiest woman of Umofia. Umofia was frightened to all its neighbors. It was powerful, has lots of energy in war and in magic and its priests and medicine men were frightened in all the surrounding country.
*WHAT?- There were many problems between Okonkwo and his village, called Umofia. Umofia how their daughter had gone to market at Mbainno and had been killed.
*WHEN?- It was published in 1958, is Chinua Achebe was born in Nigeria,1930. Nigeria was colonized before the 20th century. Nigeria in the late 1800s and early 1900s, just prior to and during tje British expansion into Umofia. Traditional Igbo society under the British,
*WHERE?- It was taken by two villages of Umuofia and Mbaino in perhaps in Africa.
*WHY?- Because Mbaino was the proud and imperious emissary of war, he was treated with great honor and respect also two days later he returned home with a lad of 15 and a young virgin.

  11. Okonkwo is the protagonist of the novel, who is very famous throughout the nine villages. He has three wives, and eight children, and he is such a wealthy, strong and a courageous man. Unoka, who is a father of Oknokwo is not well respected by his son. He is known as being lazy, and was a deptor who owed money from every neighbor. Nwoye is the oldest of the Okonkwo’s sons, the idea Okonkwo have towards Nwoye is that he is very weak and lazy. Because Okonkwo dislike the fact that his son is weak and lasy, he constantly beats him up. Ikefuma is a boy from Mbaino, the neighboring “enemy clan”, who was given to Okonkwo. He lives in the house of Okonkwo’s senior wife, and was given to Okonkwo by a man who has killed the daughter of Umuofia. Ekwafi is the second wife of Okonkwo.

The key event on the first two chapters of the book would be the murder of the wife of the tribesman. Okonkwo made a deal with Mbaino, so that they will give one virgin and a young boy in return, or else they would have to have a war. Because Umuofia had great reputation about their skills in fighting and Mbaino feared them, they decided to bring Ikefuma and a virgin to Umuofia (Achebe 15).

From the critiques I have read, I knew that the novel takes place in 1860s, it does not clearly say in the chapters when it takes place in. From what we know, we guess that it is sometime in the 19th centuries because it seems like its happening at an ancient time because Africa seems isolated from elsewhere, but it is not ancient because the tribes have well developed technologies.

The novel takes place somewhere in Africa, since I do not recognize their language, I cannot determine where in Africa it takes place in, but because Achebe is from Nigeria, it probably is Nigeria. This was stated also in the critiques.

The incident of a who got murdered was written as a very first key event which happened in the novel, therefore it must have a meaning to it. The reason it was written as one of the key event because it somehow foreshadows and gives us a clue that there seems to be some kind of a payback from the Mbaino to Umuofia later in the novel.

    1. Okonkwo is protagonist of the story. He is strong and a respected farmer. Unoka is the father of Okonkwo. He is unreliable and failed as a father and farmer. Nwoye is the first son of Okonkwo. Ikefuma is 15 year old boy from Mbaino. Ekwefi is Okonkwo's first wife out of three.
    2. The village that Okonkwo lives in almost had a war against the other village. Okonkwo recieves Ikemefuna to his household. He hands Ikemefuna over to his senior wife.
    3. This novel takes place 19th century. This is because the village has no contact with the outside world. Also they have money system and debts.
    4. This novel takes place in Nigeria, Africa. I found this out from the summarization of the story by a critic. Okonkwo lives in a village of Umuofia.
    5. War almost happened because the daughter of Umuofia was killed in Mbaino. Umuofia asked Mbaino to choose between war or offer a young man and a virgin as compensation. Mbaino chose to offer a young man and a virgin.

  13. WHO- Okonkwo is young adult and is a son of Unoka. Okonkwo is the person that had defeated Cat(Amalinze).-Unoka was a very poor and who owed a lot of money to a lot of people he did not have the greatest life, his life was very miserable and sad. He hated that his son Okonkwo was seeing him live a miserable life and knowing that his son was probably shamed of seen with him. Unoka loved music.- Nwoye is Okonkwo first son. Nwoye is 12 years old and he is very lazy.- Ikefuma is 14 and a boy who came from a city called Mbaino. He was a boy that was taken from Okonkwo when he visited Mbaino.- Ekwefi is Okonkwo's wife and has 10 children.

WHEN- It was during the 19th century in Umuofia. It was during when he came back from war.

    WHERE- Umuofia, Africa

WHY- Because Mbaino had brought 2 young women one a young girl was murdered at a market but unknown why they had killed her also finds out that the Young girl was Okonokwo's daughter and also another one is that they brought a virgin.

  14. Who?
Okonkwo appears to be the protagonist in this story who has a fear and shame from his father, Unoka. Unoka was known to be a huge debtor. Unlike his father, Okonkwo has titles and he receives fame throughout the society. Nwoye is Okonkwo’s first son. At age of 12, Okonkwo punished him for his lazy behavior. Ikefuma is a boy who was sent out to Umuofia and he temporary remain as a household in Okonkwo’s place. Ekwefi is Okonkwo’s second wife.

    What?
A daughter of Ogbueti Udo’s was killed in Mbaino. Umuofia gave a choice to society by either war or reimburse. Mbaino agreed to give a boy (Ikefuma) and a virgin girl.

    When?
It was happening in around 1890s. The society itself was very independent which shows that the other civilization have still not influenced the villages in the novel.

    Where?
The place was taken in Nigeria and was set in rural villages, Umuofia and Mbaino.

    Why?
A reason of daughter’s murder was not specifically revealed in book. Mbaino decided to repay because they feared war and wanted to avoid conflicts between the societies. A virgin girl was sent as replacement of Ogbuefi Udo’s wife. Ikemefuna remains to be a household at Okonkwo’s place until people decide about his work later on.

  15. Who? Okonkwo is the main character (antagonist) of this story. He is a strong and wealthy farmer in the village of Umuofia. He was also well known throughout the whole nine villages. Unoka is Okonkwo’s father, unlike to his son; he was really thin and weak. He was very good at playing flute, he used be asked from another villages to come to their village and teach them. Nwoye is the first son of Okonkwo. He often used to make his father angry by being lazy just like Unoka was. Ikefuma is a young boy that was sent to Umuofia by an incident that happened in another village called Mbaino. Ekwefi is the second wife of Okonkwo.
What? In the first 15 pages of the story, the most important event that happened was the murdering of a girl form Okonkwo’s village. When all the nine village leaders gathered up together, they asked the Mbaino to choose by these two options; war or send a young man and a young virgin woman to Umuofia.
When? The novel does not mention anything about time period when this is taking place, but what I think is, it could be somewhere around nineteenth century. The reason is because by some of the lines which talks about how they used the materials, and spread the knowledge, shows that it is still on developing stage, Which most of the countries used to be on developing during nineteenth century.
Where? This novel takes place in Nigeria, Africa. The reason why I know that this takes place in Nigeria is because, it mentions on the back of this book. Until the page 15, it mostly takes place in two of the nine villages in Nigeria, which are Mbaino where a girl from Okonkwo’s village was killed, and Umuofia where a boy and a girl was sent to Okonkwo to take care of them.
Why? The village leather of Mbaino sent Ikefuma; a boy form Mbaino with a virgin girl to atone for the fact that someone from their village killed a woman, which was Ogbuefi Udo’s wife, and from Okonkwo’s village. Otherwise, they had to start a war with the village of Umuofia.

  16. Who?
Okonkwo is the main character of this story. When he was young, he gained fame by beating up a great wrestler call Analinze the Cat. Unoka is Okonkwo's dad, who's considered as 'loser'. Nwoye is Okonkwo's first son, who's weak and lazy, and Okonkwo raise him with harsh punishements, because he doesn't want his son to be person like Unoka. Ikefuma is a boy who is from other village, Mbaino. He is raised by Okonkwo's first wife. And Ekwefi is one of the wives of Okonkwo.

    What?
First two chapters is basically introducing the backgrounds and characters. One event that happened was, one girl was killed in a village call 'Mbaino'. And people in Mbaino had to give one virgin and one boy as apolosize to Okonkwo's village. We can see that Okonkwo's village has more power than other villages.

    When?
This story takes place around 19th century. Because Globally around then, European countries invaded Africa, but it seems like this villages hasn't influenced by them yet.

    Where?
This book takes place in Umuofia in Africa. Umuofia is a village that is in Nigeria, which locates on West Africa.

    Why?
Because Mbaino people killed a person from Okonkwo's village, they had to give two people to Okonkwo's village. This event can be drive story into conflicts.

  17. Okonkwo is the protagonist of the story. He is trusted by everyone in the village. He has three wives. Unoka is the father of Okonkwo, who is not respected by his son. He is unreliable and lazy person, also a debtor. Nwoye is the oldest son of Okonkwo, and his father thinks that he is lazy and weak. Ikemefuna is is the boy who was brought to Okonkwo's village from a neighboring village. He lives in Okonkwo's wife's hut. Ekwefi is the second wife of Okonkwo.

The key event in the first few chapter of "Things Fall Apart" is that the village that Okonkwo live almost had a war with the neighboring village. That is because the wife of Umuofia was murdered by the village of Mbaino. Fortunately, Okonkwo had a negotiation with Mbiaino and had a deal that Okonkwo will take one virgin and one boy from Mbaino's village.

The story takes place in around 19th century. I assume it is in the 19th century because farming is quite developed and they have a system of debt. Also the village does not have a contact between the urban areas/isolated.

This story takes place somewhere in Africa. I do not know the exact place but the novel uses words that seems like African language. Two villages were introduced in the story, the Ibo village and Mbaino's village.

The key event was written in the beginning of the story, therefore it has some kind of hint to the story. I assume that there will be another contact with the village of Mbaino.

    B2 Literature

    1. Okonkwo is the protagonist in this novel. He is strong, couragous, wealthy, and highly respected from others. Also, Okonkwo hates his father. Unoka is the name of Okonkwo's father. Unoka is very lazy man who slacks off very frequently. Unlike Okonkwo, Unoka is disrespected from others. Nwoye is Okonkwo's first son. Nwoye's personality parallels to Unoka pretty much, which makes Okonkwo feel unconfortable. Ikefuma is a young boy who is taken to Oknonkwo's house from neighboring village. Ikefuma is given to Okonkwo's family as a sacrifice, to avoid the war between the villages. Okonkwo has three wives, and one of it is Ekwefi, the second wife of Okonkwo.

    2. The key event may be Ikefuma and other young girl being given to Umuofia village from neighboring village to prevent the war between the villages.

    3. This novel may take place during the 19th century. Reading through the story, I can determine that there is no outsite world's influences. The money systems is indicated in the story, therefore the story is not that ancient.

    4. I predict this story takes place at some rural area in Africa. One of this evidence of this fact if from the critic of this novel. Another evidence is from the novel. First, the words such as "Umuofia" "Unoka" and "Nwoye" pretty much sound like African words. Second, some men has more than one wife to marry, which is pretty much common in Africa.

    5. The Umuofian woman is murdered in in the market in neighboring village, Mbaino. Umuofians became furious about this and threats Mbiano people to give a sacrifice for them, or else there will be a war. Since it is obvious that Umuofian will victory if they have a war, Mbiano gives a young boy, Ikefuma and another young girl.

This story is based on 19th century, before the European colonialism. In the novel, Umuofia and other villages have no influence of the world which makes it before the colonialism.

    Where?
The setting of this story is in rural areas of Nigeria. There are two villages called Mbaino and Umuofia. Umuofia is where the main character, Okonkwo, lives.

    What?

  27. Who
Okwonko, the protagonist of the story has grown up to be a strong, and prosperous man in fear of becoming a failure like his father, Unoka, who had gained no title in his life and was a improvident debtor that loved drinking and spent his days lazily. Okwonko on the other hand is a respected village leader who holds a strong household in his large family. Nwoye, his first son worries him a bit due to his lazy attitude and is often beaten. Ikemefuna is a fifteen year old boy who has been sent from the village of Mbaino as a sacrifice to Umuofia. At the meantime he is taken cared by Okwonkwo and his family.

    What
A woman of Umuofia has been murdered in the village of Mbaino and the two villages eventually atoned by agreeing to give up a virgin and a boy as payment to the other. The virgin was given to the husband of the killed woman as a replacement while the boy, Ikemefuna, was taken to Okonkwo's house for the time-being until they figure out what to do with him.

    When
This story probably takes place during the late 19th century (1890s). We can presume this because the description of the setting is in a village society with wars and people still gathered around log fires. During this time civilization in other countries had not yet influenced the place.

    Where
In western part of southern Africa. (lower Nigeria) In two rural villages called Umuofia and Mbaino.

    Why
Ikemefuna was given to Okwonkwo because Okwonkwo was regarded as the village leader and was someone who was highly trustworthy. The reason to the Umuofian woman's murder is still unclear at this point.

  28. 1.Okonkwo plays the of protagonist throughout the story, his also the leader of the clan and was well respected by everyone. Unoka is the father of Okonkwo, who's a example of a failure to Okonkwo . Nwoye is the son of Okonkwo, ,which he thinks Nwoye a very lazy and weak son. Ikefuma a boy came form the other village that is taking care by Okonkwo. Ekwefi is the wife of Okonkwo.

    2. The key event happened so far was the death of the girl form Okonkwo's village, the killer's village gave Okonkwo a boy and a woman as apology.

    3. This book taken place right before the british colonization, which is around the late 1800's to 1900's.

4.Based on few words the author used in the book to describe the native tradition such as Kola(something they drink or eat thats serve to a great man only). And the story is based on Nigeria as we do the research before.

    5. Up to the chapter i'm on now, the author didn't really describe clearly why. And the foreshadowing is the death of the girl who was killed. And the boy and the women might represents something later on in the story.

  29. 1. Okonkwo is the strongest wrestler in the village. Unoka is Okonkwo’s father, a man who has no title or farm. Instead he owns everyone money and left a huge debts. Nwoye is Okonkwo’s oldest son, but he is a lazy kid. Ikemefuna is a little boy that Okonkwo took from Mbaino.
    2. The beginning of the book was just describing about Okonkwo’s village. Then there was some problem between the two villages, Umuofia and Mbaino. The two villages was almost going to fight.
    3. This story took place in the 19th century. Since it’s a village, they don’t interact with people outside. It’s not that ancient because they were using money.
    4. The setting of this book is in Nigeria, Africa. As I said before they are in the village called Umoufia. There are also nine more villages around them.
    5. The argument of the two villages was because the daughter of Umuofia was murder in Mbaino. So Mbaino offer a boy and a little girl to Umuofia. They don’t want to fight against Umuofia because they’re afraid of Okonkwo.

  30. 1. Who?
Okonkwo is the main character in the story of Things Fall Apart, who is famous for defeating Amalinze, who was a great westler in the area many years ago. Okonkwo has three wives, one of them is Ekwefi, and eight children and the eldest son is named Nwoye, who is lazy, which Okonkwo was very strict to him. Okoknkwo had a father named Unoka who was a failure and embarressment to Okonkwo, because he had always borrowed money and eventually died without returning it. Ikefuma is the boy who is brought to Umofia after the murder of an Umofian woman at Mbaino. Ikefuma was taken by Okonkwo's family and Okonkwo's second wife Ekwefi took care of him.
    2. What?
A young woman, who was a wife of Ogbuefi Udo, was killed in a market at Mbaino. Although the murderer is unknown, the villagers in Umofia accused Mbaino because a woman from Umofia was killed at Mbaino. Umofia came to a decision as a village to ask for a young man and a virgin woman from Mbaino as compensation to avoid conflict that would have resulted in a war.
    3. When?
From the evidence I have found in the first two chapters, I can say that the story takes place before the 20th century but after the 15th century. After the 15th century the Europeans began to trade with the local Nigerians and on p.6 it describes a marketplace and business and also the fact that villigers owned barns to grow yams sounded very European. Thus I think it takes place somewhere after the Nigerians had contact with the Europeans.

    4. Where?
The story takes place in Umofia, Nigeri, which is located in West Africa. Umofia belongs to one of the nine villiges in the area, and also because they used shells as their coins that tells me that Okonkwo may live closer to the coast. Another evidence that gives me an idea of the location is that since farming is a big thing in that area, Okonkwo may also live in a fertile land with lots of green and water resources.

    5. Why?
The reason of the woman being murdered is unknown, however Umofia desided to accused Mbaino as a village responsibility because the market at Mbaino was the crime scene. Since Umofia didn't want any wars between the villeges, they came to a decision for asking a boy and a virgin girl from that village.
